Gulf Coast Dementia Services (GCDS), in parody style, is bringing back The Gong Show to MOBILE! It’s a fundraiser that will display unconventional local talent to raise money for the Dementia Resource Guide published and distributed for free by GCDS and for specific awareness for Dementia Care and Prevention. Our Gong Show will take place at 6:00 PM on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at The Grand Hall, 3556 Halls Mill Rd, Mobile, AL 36693 (with LOTS of free parking onsite!) and we want to see you there.

So… Just What Exactly is a Gong Show?
The Gong Show was an NBC television program created by Chuck Barris that became a pop culture phenomenon in the late 70’s and again in the late 80’s. It flipped the concept of a talent show by featuring decidedly untalented contestants vying for trophies and prizes that made for hilarious entertainment.

Who out there can bring in the most laughs? For such a great cause. YOU! Elvis or Liberace Impersonators come forward!!!! Any stand up comedians out there? Will the unknown comic make a comeback? Are you a harp or accordion player that can raise the roof?

Doors open at 6pm for food and drink specials, cash raffle and prize give aways. Come socialize, eat, meet and greet. For sure get your chair. Seating is limited. Our MC takes the stage at 7pm for an hour and a half or so-ish of down home fun.
Judges’ Best and Crowd Favorite awards and prizes, Worst Act of the Night wins too, so even if you lose, you can win big!
